The Push to BETA

Kyle and Rich

So, why Beta? While there is a ton of content we still plan to implement in Much Dungeon, we decided that we should get some feedback from you (the player) before release. To this end, we spent a fair amount of time a while back defining the minimum requirements for a BETA release. In the upcoming weeks we will be focusing our development time on the push to BETA.

With that in mind here is what you can expect from the Much Dungeon BETA:

World

The BETA will include the full world size as the release version. Our procedural generation will include the general biomes with more special cased rare encounters to come later.

Characters

Each biome will be populated with unique NPCs and Bosses. These Characters will have unique behaviors and challenges which result in interesting gameplay. The BETA version may not be complete-able as final bosses and endgame content may not be complete.

Items and Equipment

We have a good amount of items and equipment in game now. There are tons of ideas for new potions, scrolls, armor, and more.

Art

Art may change entirely by release. We’re removing our very bad placeholders to use content from purchased art packs for BETA. Characters may lack animations in some cases and item, decorator, and tile graphics could be rough.

Audio

Sound effects and music may be one of the more complete aspects of the BETA. There may be some placeholders in SFX and less total music tracks than final release.

Monetization

The BETA release of Much Dungeon will have no monetization systems enabled. While the skeletons of these systems will be in place, there will be no ability to complete a transaction. Rest assured that BETA testing our project will not cost you any money.

Love Always,

Much Software
